How to Use Oils


Diffusing is a great way to purify the air, help aid in respiratory, boost your mood, and keep your atmosphere happy and healthy! Inhaling the oils is the most powerful way to benefit for emotional aromatherapy needs. Drop 1-2 drops in the palm of your hand, rub together and inhale deeply through your nose, and even huff through your mouth for fresh breathe and and immune boost! 


Place 1-2 drops of oil on the desired location of need. When using oils topically, it is important to remember to use fractionated coconut oil or any carrier oil to dilute. A carrier oil helps to "carry" the essential oil deeper into your skin! Once you get more familiar with your oil groove, you can place them on without a carrier oil. Avoid sun exposure up to 12 hours with citrus oils such as lemon, lime, grapefruit, etc. Effective methods of application are using less oils, more frequently on the area of need. Example: Place 1 drop of doTERRA Peppermint oil on your temples, forehead and back of neck, every 15 min. to alleviate discomfort. 


Internal use of doTERRA essential oils is a great way to improve overall internal health. Place 1-2 drops of oil and place into a stainless steel or glass bottle for internal benefits. You can take the oils orally by taking 1 drop of oil underneath your tongue, or place a few drops into a vegetable capsule and swallow. You can also cook with your oils by placing 1-3 drops to spice up your recipes!
